Moses received two stone tablets inscribed with the word of God. But the Ten Commandments only filled one of the tablets. The other - and its mysterious message - has been lost to time. Or has it only been hidden?

Following a trail of ancient clues, paleo-archaeologist Dr. Rebecca Monroe and the man who broke her heart, Special Forces sergeant Vincent Brandt, team up in a desperate attempt to unearth the lost tablet while a murderous cult fights to keep the relic buried forever.

With each clue they decipher, each stone fragment they uncover, each continent they travel, Monroe and Brandt draw closer to the truth - and each other. But the secret contained on the holy tablet may leave the world in ruin.

Havoc Betrayed Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Carolyn McCray Laurel Lefkow Brilliance Audio Books

I have a lot of books by Carolyn McCray in my collection that includes at least three box sets. They are all extremely brilliant. Since I had read the earlier books depicting the story of Rebecca, Brandt , Lopez, Davidson and all the others, I did expect the absolutely unexpected - a hallmark quality that is true of all her books - but this book surpassed all previous impressions, anticipations and surmises.

The characters are very down to earth, the story takes us on an exhil arating ride encompassing; a. exciting places on this earth and elsewhere; b. places the reader would not, think, in wildest dreams of coming across and c. incidents not even thought of by most of the readers (not by me, definitely!). One thrilling nail-biting event after another keep the readers completely engrossed. The end is delightful and the element of surprise is prodigious. I recommend all lovers of thrillers to read this book without fail.

Thank you Carolyn McCray. I am off to read your next unread book in my collection.

Havoc Betrayed Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Carolyn McCray Laurel Lefkow Brilliance Audio Books Reviews

I read the previous book by this author, I believe it was 30 pieces of silver or something like that. While I am an atheist, I find religion to be fascinating. Of course, this is a book of fiction, so I can only conclude that the references to the ten commandments and sodom and gemorrhah are fiction as well. But this is a really good book. Lots of "guy action" guns, fast cars, planes and boats makes it a fast read. It also involves "history". Of course, that means the "bible's version" of history. I would recommend this book and the author's previous book as well.
Havoc by Carolyn McCray is touted as an extremely controversial novel but I was unable to understand why. Basically it is a quest story in which a small band of Special Force soldiers accompanied by the requisite women dash here and there in search of a doomsday biological weapon which shares the hiding place of the fragments of Moses' first set of commandments. The journey results in much fire fire, high body counts and extreme destruction, i.e. St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow is burned down and the department store Gum torn to pieces with automatic weapons. The bad guys in this case are led by a woman from a mysterious sect known as the disciples who believe in a female messiah. Eventually the good guys succeed and the bad guys are destroyed. The grammar is somewhat anarchical, and I suspect the book would have half as many pages if the f___ word had been left out.
I was completely prepared to "not like" this book - but it was one of the freebies - so I thought "why not"

The minute I began reading I became engrossed; there is so much going on. It's about religion, history, (neither subject has ever held much interest for me) Special Ops (now we're talking) ....a hint of romance (not a lot) but the whole ball game, rolled up into one extremely good read.

It's a good thing I'm retired, as I picked up this book in the morning, took a lunch break, fed my dogs, let them in and out a few times and continued reading.I read all afternoon and finished the book.

This book had me nailed to my chair holding my breath for the next page. I even surprised myself!!
The second book in the Betrayed series is every bit as good as the first - Thirty Pieces of Silver. The suspense begins on the first page and continues to the very last word. While highly controversial because of its religious context very different from what the average Christian was taught, and not for the weak in faith, the reader still needs to remember that it is a fictional presentation.
If this reader has any criticism at all, it is the typos, and misuse and misspelling of words, as well as the absence of them periodically. However, this may be an uploading problem, and not an author issue. Either way, while it didn't detract from the story, it did cause me some angst as a reader. But it won't keep me from reading every book by Carolyn McCarthy that I can get my hands on.
NOTE if you purchase this book - and I HIGHLY recommend you do, then perhaps keep track of grammar spelling errors that occur, as she asks for such, at the end of the book.......
I'm addicted to her writing style, full of action, realistic love complications of the modern day, humor, great personal & working relationships amongst team members & foes, & questions on religious history theories.
She has it all for the reader who doesn't want to be bored, or soothed to sleep.

I've begun a collection - now that I've discovered all of her series' & am hungry to immediately start reading the next book
THANK YOU, MS. MCCRAY!

The action never lets up...Carolyn McCray has really outdone herself on this one. Really, really outdone herself. The four place names have in the above have nothing seemly related to do with each other, two towns a sea two connecting continents. But somehow Carolyn McCray pulls it all together in a really amazing style is as good as, if not better than, Gary Lindberg's, the Shekinah Legacy. Each of which I gave five stars to, also. The have characters reacting to situations the can barely control, significant, plausible religious details. And best of all, extremely likable characters that you want to root for, and especially in "Havoc" villains you love to hate. A warning, you might want to read book before this, book one, of the betrayed series, because something obviously happened to the characters in the book before this one. It didn't affect my enjoyment in this book-probably because I read it too fast to notice. Tom Clancy good, which is the highest superlative I can think of to give a writer.
